On Hierarchical Threshold Secret Sharing

Ali Aydin Selcuk, Kerem Kaskaloglu, and Ferruh Ozbudak

Abstract

Recently, two novel schemes have been proposed for hierarchical threshold secret sharing, one based on Birkoff interpolation and another based on bivariate Lagrange interpolation. In this short paper, we propose a much simpler solution for this problem.

Note: We received a number of comments on the previous version of this paper which pointed out some references we should have cited and also mentioned a misunderstanding we had. We integrated this data to our paper as a new final section.
